Web Design - Scripps College

Scripps College is a highly selective and prestigious all-women’s college. These webpages were designed to drive engagement and convert high-school students into inquiries who are then guided through the college application process to prepare them to make an informed decision on where to apply for college and reveal whether Scripps is the right match. The webpages were developed as part of larger campaign efforts that included email, SMS, marketing forms, print and digital advertising.

Challenge

Bring Scripps College to the top of students’ minds through valuable content, brand awareness and a sense of affinity confirmed by the stories of real Scripps students. Employ Scripps’ lush and vibrant visual identity in a way that delights readers and leads them through content with clear actions and multiple entry points to initiate and deepen their relationship with Scripps College.

Process

Scripps’ visual brand offers a variety of shapes, patterns, colors and botanical images. The inspiration stems from the school’s beautiful campus with its diverse plant life and student body. I made strategic use of this by using a variety of photo and vector assets layered in interesting cutouts and different colorways so that each section stood out but still felt like part of a larger story.

Outcome

Scripps College saw a high response rate on their underclassmen marketing touchpoints. The school decided to extend their marketing efforts to high school seniors so they could continue the momentum and traction gained with the underclassmen inquiries.
